Lurgan Town Boys FC

Lurgan took on the league leaders Lisburn Distillery who have yet to be beaten this season.Lurgan started very strong and were causing Lisburns defence a lot of problems. Some great midfield play between Scott Wiltshire and Robbie Norton saw Nathaniel Ferris beat the keeper only for the ball to come back off the post and into the keepers hands. Lurgan continued to play their passing game with Lisburn looking for long balls on the break but Canning, Cassells,Russell and Woolsey were solid as a back four.Just before half time Norton's great free kick was tipped round the post by the keeper so the sides finished even at half time.

The second half saw Lisburn pressure the Lurgan goal but they defended very well and looked dangerous on the break and nearly took the lead when ryan Smyth put Ferris through but he was forced wide and his shot went over.Lurgan continued to look the more ! likely to score and Nathan Weir was causing Lisburn all sorts of problems down the wing but with 2 mins to go lisburn got a very fortunate goal to steal all 3 pts.Although the boys were downhearted they know they deserved something from the game and they really enjoyed the free flowing football they played.
