Donate Your Boots

Lurgan Town Boys received an email recently from their former coach Johnny McKinstry with a special request. Johnny is currently working out in Sierra Leone working as Technical Director of the Craig Bellamy Foundation. Here's what he had to say:

"As well as the Academy, where we host boys on a 5 year scholarship for their football and education, we also operate development leagues across the country. These are the first youth leagues to exist in Sierra Leone and promote not only healthy lifestyles, but also education, community involvement and health awareness. Currently we operate 92 boys teams at u12 and u14 across the country (1840 players) and in January will expand our girls operation to 20 teams (400 players)"

"With young players growing out of boots so quickly, there is a great opportunity for the children and families involved with Lurgan Town Boys to help support the development of sport, community involvement and education in Sierra Leone via the donation of used boots, that would normally either be thrown away, or left in the back of the closet. Add to this the fact that we are coming up to Christmas, when a lot of players will be getting new boots, and I hope you would agree that there is the potential for a big impact to be made".

HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW

We have teamed up with www.thebeautifulgame.eu to offer you a great deal. Simply bring your old boots into the shop (in Mourneview Park) and receive either 10% off a brand new pair OR 10% off any purchase in store. Why not make someone's Christmas this year by giving something straight from your own heart.
